What should I wear?

So, you've taken the leap, you've finally booked in your session, whether that be family, newborn or maternity! You're so excited to get some beautiful photos to hang all over your home, but what are you going to wear?!

I have a solution for you!

Below you'll find samples of my client wardrobe that I offer free of charge, used for both maternity and family sessions for mum. I have some samples of what to dress your family in so you're all cohesive and compliment each other and I have a link set up to a wonderful Australian business that rents out outfits for the whole family.

You should find all the information here that you need, but of course, if you have any questions, I am happy to help.

My Client Wardrobe

These are all the gowns you can borrow for any session you have with me, Some are definitely more suited to maternity only, but any of the full gowns and two-piece options, can absolutely be worn by mama for a family session too. These are great for maternity sessions as you are probably only going to wear this dress the one time, so why not take advantage of the stunning pieces I have available and save yourself from buying something else.

You can wear one or all of the gowns on the day of your shoot, I'll bring them all along if you like, or just the specific ones you are after.

Wardrobe Suggestions For The Family

I know it can be daunting picking out everyones outfits, but if you stick to some simple rules, it will make it a whole lot easier. With my style of editing and backdrops I typically choose, a wardrobe of white, cream, beige and tan will always look good. You don't want to match each other, but definitely stick to the same colour palette and tones. Steer clear of black, avoid logos on tops and if you must wear a pattern, be sure to only let one person do that, and I would suggest building the rest of the outfits off the patterned one, then you can make it cohesive and it give you more variety of choice for the others. I only suggest sticking to the same colours to avoid someone rocking up in a hot pink top and someone else in green, it will be very distracting in your photos and they won't have that "together" feeling that we want to achieve for your photos. Of course, at the end of the day, these are your photos and you should feel comfortable in whatever you choose to wear in them, just remember that a family dressed in all black won't have the same vibe and feel in the final images as a family dressed in the lighter colours.
